Price is a former professional rugby league footballer of the 1980s and '90s, and coach of the 2000s who at representative level has played for Great Britain, and at club level for Wakefield Trinity Wildcats (twice), South Sydney Rabbitohs, Featherstone Rovers, and York, playing at Wing, Centre, Second-row, or Loose forward/Lock, i.e. number 2 or 5, 3 or 4, 11 or 12, 13, and at club level has coached for Featherstone Rovers.

Gary Price played Left-Second-row, i.e. number 11 and scored a try in Wakefield Trinity's 29-16 victory over Sheffield Eagles in the 1992 Yorkshire Cup final at Elland Road, Leeds on the 18th October 1992.[2]
